Dr. Kristin Sponcia, based in Chicago, is a versatile pianist, vocalist, composer, and educator, specializing in unique jazz and pop arrangements. With a diverse performance background, from Carnegie Hall to a jazz duo residency in China, she has freelanced using various formats, including Dixieland bands, weddings, jazz festivals, and solo gigs. As a vocalist, Kristin sang with the Phil Mattson Singers, founded a Chicago-based vocal jazz group, and regularly accompanies top vocalists. Holding a Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Performance, she researched "The Advantages and Challenges of the Female Self-Accompanied Jazz Vocalist." Kristin's extensive teaching includes everything from young beginner pianists in one-on-one lessons, to high school and university classrooms and ensembles. Active in the Chicagoland and Milwaukee areas, she continues to expand her musicianship in production, songwriting, and music entrepreneurship.
